The Children and Families Ministry exists to:
- Inspire, encourage and equip churches to engage meaningfully with children and families in their local communities.
"Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left." Matthew 19:14-15
- Train and resource leaders to teach and disciple today’s children in relevant and appropriate ways, so that they may have a firm foundation of faith, and be seen as a vital part of the church community.
"The children in the Temple were shouting, “Praise God for the Son of David.” But the leaders were indignant. 16 They asked Jesus, “Do you hear what these children are saying?” “Yes,” Jesus replied. “Haven’t you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, ‘You have taught children and infants to give you praise.” Matthew 21:14-16
- Encourage parents in the fullness of their roles as parents, with a special emphasis on assisting them to be the prime spiritual champions of their children.
"And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children." Deuteronomy 6:5-7)
